WHAT IF YOUR CLEAN CONSCIENCE IS ACTUALLY UNCLEAN?

How do you see yourself? Righteous or unrighteous? God sees you like this no matter what you think or others say.

In our own eyes, we are good, honest, righteous, faithful, charitable, trustworthy, and balanced. This is our judgment about ourselves. And sometimes, even when we do the wrong things, we say: “My conscience is clean”.

But what about before God’s eyes? How does God see us? Pay attention: “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Isaiah 64:6).

Then the prophet Isaiah, speaking to the people in sin, expressed precisely the condition of our righteousness. He said, “we are all like an unclean thing”. And he also used the expression “filthy rags”.

Therefore, you may think you are a righteous, good person because you do not kill, do not steal, do not commit physical adultery (but the Lord Jesus raised the bar there when he said that adultery is also committed in the heart when you covet a person). You may be considered good in front of men, but this, compared to God’s righteousness, is “filthy rags”. We will not be judged by our righteousness. When you arrive at the court, you are not judged by your conscience (what matters are the laws of that court). And God’s justice is infinitely superior. Because God sees everything, he even knows our heart’s intentions.

You will be judged by the Word of God. And if you don’t have a Lawyer (that’s where the Lord Jesus comes in), your unresolved guilt before the Judge, how will you remain untouched in this court? We all sin; our justice is like filthy rags. To be cleansed, we need the blood of the Lord Jesus, who erases our sins and makes us clean in the eyes of God. But this will only happen if we want His forgiveness, if we believe in Him, and live according to His Word. It’s not God’s will to condemn someone.

So, you should ask: “Have I already unravelled my filth before God?”. Only He overcame death and did not sin. Because all the other names are as filthy as you are. What are you going to do? Will you appear alone with your rags before the Judge or with your Lawyer, the Lord Jesus?

You must watch the video above and reflect on this subject.
