YOU’RE INSANE IF YOU DO THIS
It's insanity to want different results, always doing the same things. Have you been doing this? How about to start taking different actions?
A well-known definition of insanity is: doing the same things and expecting different results. Seeing how easy it is for humans to live like this is amazing and interesting. People hope their lives improve but keep doing the same things. And logic teaches us that if I do things and the results are these, the results will be the same tomorrow. That’s intelligence.
God says: “Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways” (Haggai 1:5). In other words, God gave the human being the capacity for analysis. A power that animals, in most, do not have and when they have it, it is minimal. The ability of the human being is much greater to analyse. They can evaluate even themselves (what is happening, what happened and imagine the future). God has given us a capacity that only He has. But unfortunately, few people use this ability to evaluate the course of their lives.
We see, for example, in Gideon’s story (Judges 6) that the people, in their time, had exchanged God for the habits of the enemy peoples. The people themselves wanted to push God out of Israel. So God fulfilled that desire and left them alone. God doesn’t abandon people; He just does what they want. If they don’t want Him to interfere in their lives, He won’t interfere.
You need to understand this: when a tragedy happens, soon someone will ask where God is, but He was in the same place that you left Him. If He is out of your life in good times, why do you want Him in bad times? It doesn’t make sense. He only fulfils our desire for Him to stay away.
Then, every year, Israel sowed, and the enemies came and destroyed everything at the time of harvesting. It took 7 years for someone to stop and say: “this is not working”. Then someone did something different: he cried out to God. They started to do what they had yet to do for 7 years. Someone remembered God, who then sent them help.
God showed Gideon that they needed to change their behaviours if they wanted something different. They needed to do something different to have different results. God began to cause a commotion in Israel through Gideon, starting with the fall of the altar of Baal and the construction of the Altar of God.
This is how change happens: with a disruption. In other words, you start to break from the old practices, customs and routines. God changes a person’s life when they agree to break the old practices. “I’m not going to do this anymore. Enough! It’s over!” And when you start making the dust fly, many will want to stop you. Don’t be afraid if someone will comment, criticise, or stand against it. You won’t have different results if you do the same thing.
The good news is that the results will speak for themselves. They will be your reward. The success you’ve been waiting for.
